Mechanics:

 

♡      Open to ALL COLLEGE STUDENTS

♡      Translate any foreign or Tagalog song into any other Philippine language or dialect of choice

♡      A performance of the translated song lasting no longer than five minutes would be done live on the 6^th of March, 2009 (Friday), at Aldaba Hall, UP Diliman.

 

Requirements:

 

♡      Accomplished registration form. Forms will be available at the Linguistics department and class rooms and upon request to UP SALIN members.

♡      Registration Fee of Php. 50.00

♡      Copy of 1) original song lyrics, 2) English translation [if song is not in English already], and 3) translated entry sent to kantamosalinko@gmail.com on/before 9pm of February 25, 2009.

♡      A minus-one tape or your own instruments and other props you may need for the live performance. (You may coordinate with UP SALIN if you want to hire drums.)

 

 

Criteria for Judging:

 

♡      40% - Skillfulness and creativity of  translation (It does not have to be strict word-for-word translation.)

♡      25% - Stage Performance

♡      20% - Originality

♡      10% - Ticket Votes (Tickets will be available on the KMSK performance night.)

♡      5%   - Audience Appeal

 

 

Winners and Prizes:

 

♡      Three winners will be declared:

«       Champion

«       First runner-up

«       Second runner-up

♡      Prizes will be Php 3000, 2000, and Php. 1,000 for the Champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up respectively, in cash and/or gift cheques.
